I know some blogs have "open posts" where people can talk about whatever. Since AVEN is down at the moment, I figure that asexoholics might be raring to talk about stuff. So, feel free to comment with favorite web sites, promotions of your own site, topics you'd like me to write about, best songs you've heard lately, best and worst pet names, travel destinations, etc. The more random, the better.
For example, here's my current favorite site, in which flags of the world are given completely arbitrary letter grades. (A friend posted in on Facebook and I got such a big kick out of it that I've been showing it to everyone since.)
Yes folks, anything goes...

Asexoholics? The Greek root -holic has the same origin and meaning that English whole. Are asexoholics people who deem asexuality (or the asexosphere, or AVEN) their whole life?
My second option is that it's a portmanteau of asexual and Catholic, which seems to be one of the most ace-friendly Christian confessions. By the way, Catholic does also contain the root -holic in origin.
Well, some people do seem to live on AVEN. In slang English, at least in the US, people tend to add the suffix "-oholic" to anything that people can't get enough of or are obsessed with. For example, someone that really likes cake might be called a "cakeoholic" by their friends. If they have silly friends.
I just want to send you a book that is almost a-sexy in and of itself. BUT, it does contain hugging. Lots and lots of very-platonic hugging. If thou gmailst me thine addy, I couldst snail mail it?
Well, I for one am glad DJ got the site back up and running... I must confess, I've been AWOL since August. It was quite a pleasant surprise to see our numbers have increased! :)
Heidi, I am intrigued! There must be some way to get your email from comments, but I don't know what it is. You can email me at sanfranciscoemily [at] gmail [dot] com. Then I'll email you back :-)
K, it's funny because I was looking at notes from a talk I did 2 years ago, and I had said that AVEN had 10,000 members...now it's double that...pretty impressive.
Not quiet awkward descriptions of sex, like you had a little while ago, but the bad description of sex award shortlist, and they are bad http://www.guardian.co.uk/books/2009/nov/19/bad-sex-factor-prize-shortlist
I found a very asexy song by The Beatles..."I'm Happy Just To Dance With You"
Thanks for that link! It's very funny-- proof that less is more, I guess. I think my favorite line is, "It was as if she were wearing a mask on her genitals, a weird totem mask, that made her into what she was not and was not supposed to be."
Could not find a suitable section so I written here, how to become a moderator for your forum, that need for this?
Which forum are you referring to?
It was extremely interesting for me to read the post. Thanks for it. I like such topics and everything that is connected to this matter. I definitely want to read a bit more on that blog soon.
