of course, there's always something to fall in love with: asexual perspectives on pop culture and much more.
Having just considered a question posed on AVEN ('Do you ever wish you weren't asexual?') and in order to be honest without myself having to give the answer 'Sometimes,' I have to say this post came at just the right time for me. Thanks. :)
It looks like it was a lot of fun. I wish I could have been there!
@fintinobrien: Hey, I'm glad to hear that! Honestly, I feel the same way at times...like I just want to fit in and be "normal". But oddly, when I think about it, my life wouldn't be very different if I were sexual. Of course, this may be untrue for other people.@Emerald Girl: It was indeed fun (although I was slightly grumpy from too much time in the sun) and I wish you could have been there, too!
I'm certain my life would be different to. Really, I just want the world to be more accepting, but sometimes it just feels like I'm the problem. :/(To end this on a happier note, I'm attending my first ace meet up in a couple of weeks, so hopefully that will help me feel more normal!)
Ah, Ily, pride was SO fun. Seriously one of the best experiences of my life. Thank you so much for posting this picture!
@fintinobrien: Oh cool, I hope you have a good time!@Laurel: Yay, you're welcome! It was good to meet you!
As one of the people in the picture, I just wanted to say thank you for posting it! I spent a while freaking out because I was different from everyone I knew before I came across the term asexual. Your blog was one of the first things I read, and it gave me so much comfort to know that I wasn't the only person like this. So, thank you. People need proof that there is a community, that they aren't alone.
@Anon: That makes me really glad to hear, thank you! And I agree, it's important to have that proof, and it can help to actually see the faces of real people.
It's such an awesome picture! Someday I'll come to Pride and march in solidarity :)
@feministbookproject: That would be awesome!
The tshirts you guys are wearing in this picture are rad! Envy isn't green its purpleeeee....btw which one is you? I cant tell as the only photo Ive seen of you is your DP, I cant see your face.looks like a such fun anyways! take care x
@TheJester: I liked the shirts a lot, too. Now I know why armies all have matching uniforms. It really does give you an extra sense of camaraderie. And I took the picture, so I'm not in it! Whoops :)
Thanks for the reply :) now I know why I couldn't see you haha smart move....anyways something that just came to me today...Dont know if you'd done this before but I had an idea for you to do in a future blog post.You've probably heard of the writing exercise that people sometimes do, where they write letters to their younger selves to give themselves the advice they wish they'd be given at the time and stuff along those lines.While how about a twist on that letter?.......instead of a letter to your former self, how about a open letter to your sexuality?It can be about whatever you want as long as its a letter about and for your sexuality. maybe like what you would ask/tell your sexuality if it was a person.....or anything you can think of really....your probably better with coming up with ideas then me.Just thought it would be interesting to see what you'd write to your sexuality.If you've already done this, please give me a link so I can read it :)cheers! x
