Optimism from an Economic Casualty

After my sad story about being kicked out of my house by a crazyperson, I think it's time for a spot of optimism, don't you? Here's some great things about living with my mom and sister:
  • Best of all, to live with people who love me! Okay, it's a little corny, but I love my family and get along with them most of the time. Even if I annoy them, they're genetically programmed not to kill me, which is nice.

  • My own bathroom. BOOYAH.

  • Modern conveniences previously unseen in San Francisco, such as a dishwasher and more than one power outlet in my room.

  • My very own brand-new (okay, 1995) car!

  • Proximity to some cool places, like Target and Yumi Yogurt, and a park that is, apparently, serviced by an honest-to-goodness ice cream truck.

  • Flatter land, enabling easier bicycling.

  • The possibility that my mom will actually feed me sometimes, so I don't have to constantly be wondering what I'm going to eat.

Hmm, I may not want to ever leave...

If it's flat land you like, let me tell you about central IL... rumor has it that somewhere in town we have an (artificially created) hill.

I do like the views from the tops of hills here in SF...but it's harder to get around.

Sounds like a sweet deal! Do you get free rent? Or at least cheaper than those crazy San Francisco rates? I've had to learn to be optimistic about my living situation too. I couldn't afford rent after so many months unemployed, so I moved in with my aunt. So yeah, I understand where you're coming from. Still, I secretly look forward to moving into my own place in a few months :)

ppfff! Illinois? Manitoba is the Flat, if you set up a telescope the right way on portage or Main, you can see straight through the city!
It's weird, there's places you can go downhill here, but nowhere you can go uphill; not sure how that works.

Yep...I don't have to pay rent anymore. I'll have to see this Manitoba at some point...

Point 2 alone would be worth it for me :) Well, as my mom is a clean freak too, I'd rather share a bathroom with her than with anyone else in the world... but still, I so love having a bathroom all to myself...

Another thing I forgot to mention: Being alone in the morning. I don't like having to talk to people right after waking up, so it's really nice to be the only one awake.

Haha. xD

What if you went back up a hill that you just went down?
